AT&T 513 Terminal Question

Good evening. I am having a problem. I have to access
several Definity switches. The access works fine when calling from a PC running VT100 emulation (Reflections VT Emulator) and telling the switch to use 513 emulation.

I have figured out the escape sequences necessary for 'F' keys F1, F3, F5, F7 and F8.

What I need is the escape codes for F6 (IE: Escape Ow) so when you do a "cha vec ###" in the Definity switch you can send the codes for "Edit".

If anyone has the escape codes for F2 and F6 I would appreciate it.

Has anyone out there used WRQ Reflections Unix or VT emulation
software to access a Definity or Intuity or Definity Audix? If you have what is the best results (emulation) / settings you have found? Reflections can emulate VT100/VT102, VT220-7, VT220-8, WYSE-50, WYSE-60 and SCO-ANSI.

Yes I do have ASA but because we use different PC's with different modems and COM ports here and it makes it almost impossible to share the ASA data file as the data file carries all the modem and COM port stuff with it.

Reflections allows for a dialing directory that does not care about what COM port or modem type in being used. It's stored on a PC by PC basis. It's a problem with function key mapping...

Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance

I don't know if this helps but if you could change to 4410 emulation within your program the F6 vector commands will work perfectly.

Hope this helps!

fonedoc,

That's my main problem. The emulation pachage I have to use is Reflections from WRQ. I have two versions. VT for Unix and VT for Regis Graphic. Both work fine but I having some difficulity with the 'F6' Key.

Have you done such like emulation of a VT220-7 then tell the Definity your terminal is a 4410? I would suspect the escape key sequences would change. What are you using to access the switches and how do you have your 'F' keys mapped?

What emulators (VT100, VT102, VT220-7, VT220-8) if any have you had success with talking to a Definity in 4410 or 513 mode?

Any help is appreciated.

You see over the years I have written and updated a fairly complex set of scripts and tool bars and database for Reflections so we can access Meridian One switches, Nortel SL-100, Meridian Mail, Octel Mail, Intuity Mail, Audix Intuity Mail, Unix, MaxStar Centrex. Scripting to communicate with at least 5 different types of PC modem. Remote modems I can handle, dumb (Rixon, Intel, USR), smart, password protected modem (IPC), Alarm Momdems (SEB, Dispatcher), Security (Solo).

This is only a partial list. You can see why I would not like to start over with a different package just to get the 'F6' to work so I can send the escape code for F6 "Edit" from within "cha vec 333"

Try control shifted 6. Speak softly and carry a big switch

I guess my question was mis-stated. I was trying to find the key mapping when emulating a 513 terminal.

I don't have TERRANOVA so I use Reflections to emulate a VT100. When the Definity switch is told you are using a 513 terminal it works "screen wise" fairly well.

It appears to me at least, maybe you know better that the 513 terminal seems to be available on all Definity switches.

I actually need the escape codes sent when emulating a 513 terminal. Especially F6 so you can EDIT within a CHA VEC ## on a Definity.

Or, do all Definity switches support VT100 even if not given as an option. Hum,,, If the Definity thinks you are a VT100 a real VT100 only has PF1 to PF4. A few keys missing.
