Something is wrong with my computer, again...
About a year ago it would start to randomly hang/reboot, that was because I had put the "reset button" cable incorrectly on the mb. So I simply just removed it and problem was solved.

Now it's starting again, but this time it wont even boot.
It just sits forever on the Post boot screen.
No errors or anything. I can get into BIOS though, so it doesn't freeze.

Anyone had this trouble?

I took out alot of dust yesterday, but after that it worked. And now it doesn't.

The following could be the causes:

mainboard battery dead or dying...
HDD dying or dead...
ODD dying or dead... this is your CD/DVD drive...
wrong CMOS settings: in the BIOS hit F5 to load default settings and F10 to save and exit...
cables (ide sata power fan etc.) knocked loose or damaged...
PSU not supplying enough power, ergo dying (but you say it works in the BIOS so it cannot be the PSU, think again, I had a PSU that would allow me to install the OS but as soon as the second core/CPU was accessed the PC went into reboot and it turned out that the PSU was dying)...

Does the BIOS see your HDD during POST? Many mobos will not POST without a keyboard connected or if they do not detect a keyboard. What does the last visible line in BIOS say when it gets stuck? Have you tried booting to CD?

Users helping Users...

After just opening the case and checking all cables (Which were all connected as they should) the pc boots alright.
The last message was "Auto Assign 4th Master:", so that might be why it wouldn't boot... I'll check out that HDD and see if it's faulty.

Thanks guys
