Asterisk@Home public IP

I am having a problem with my Asterisk@Home machine. I installed it in side my network with a private IP address and it worked fine for the LAN calls. Now I want to register to a trial SIP trunk which does not support NAT so I had to take it out of our LAN and give a public IP address. Its ok, but I can make calls, for inside my LAN and even when I give my client machine with Softphone a public IP address too. I get Call not approved onmy x-lite. Any ideas?

I can configure everything from the web gui, but no call, even local voip calls on the same subnet.

The problem was on my client Softphone:Automatic detect IP, I disable it and all was working again. The client is X-Lite.

If i was to use asterisk at home would I be able to use it thru my ISP highspeed. If so, how would I configure that? I'm using vonage as my phone service. Would I be able to set up or would I need to buy hardware like the FXS.
