I have a customer that is looking to implement the click to call feature with outlook. I have doc's for outlook communication server 2007 and Nortel's exchange server, I showed the customer the outlook stuff and he said that is what he wants. I ran a quote, and my guy came back with an AST license upgrade. How is this configured to work with outlook? Will it do what they want? I know the customer does not want to spend any more money, so he is not going to want another server. Thanks, any info will be a help.

if it needs ast, which are reletively cheap, then it looks like the 3rd party app (outlook) will be acquiring 1 or 2 keys on the sets, same as a recording solution would to have a tie to posid, or scr etc.

I am still not sure how this gets implemented. After I laod the AST licenses on the switch, what do I do to get it to work? I am missing the whole outlook to pbx connection, am I loading something on the outlook server also?.. I must have to I would think.Thanks.

the outlook server will probably be on the pbx subnet of the IP Network, and from there will acquire sets.

What CLick to Call system is it? I'm in the market for one so I'm courious what is out there. Thanks!

click to call, is when you want to call someone, and you dont know the number, you can type the name on MS word click it and it will dial the person

I think the customer is going to use the CCT 6.0 on the knowledge base software, which will interface with outlook..or some crap like that, this is new for me.
