I have a few different questions.

First, Say someone calls and from the custom menu chooses the wrong option. When the person answers the phone they hit transfer and dial the correct extension to transfer the call. But if that extension is in use, it just shows busy on the display and they cannot transfer the call. How do they transfer the call and if that extension is in use, it just goes to the busy message and allows them to leave a message?

Second question. I re-recorded various prompts and now they sometimes work and other times don't. I will give you an example (I figure if I can solve it with the one it should apply to the others as well.) I changed the prompt #417 from "please wait a moment" to "please hold while your call is being transferred". I still get the system prompt on occasion, and other times it is the new prompt. I checked COS settings which show user1 prompt, and I assume there are various locations that I must make sure are set to user1. Any ideas what settings I might have overlooked?

Last is a question on notification. I have a mailbox set for notification so when someone calls, they leave a message and the vps calls me. I have it set with 2 numbers, my home and then my cell. I set it up to keep trying every hour if no response. When I tested it, it called my home phone 2 times, but never my cell. It seems it is calling my home for the # of times I set it to call. How do I set it to call home, if no answer, call my cell, and then if no answer, try the cycle again in an hour, and repeat this 3 times.

Anyone have any of these answers??
 
1. In order for a transferred call (transferred by a live person as opposed to voice mail) to go to an extension's mailbox you set the extension for CFBNA to the voice mail extension, usually 165.
2. If you are using custom menus make sure it's set for user prompts.
3. not sure on this one.

1. I will try this to see if it works, thought I have the 624 and tvs 50, so the vm extension is 107.
2. As I said, they are set for user prompt 1, but still sometimes in the voice mail transfers it still uses the system prompts.

if sometimes works and somtimes not then i would chk port 2 of the tvs . if programming with windows software ,it only programs 1 port at a time
have made this mistake myself at times

also if an extension is off hook program and use your voicemail transfer button!!
