Assisted transfer

The manual for VM Pro release 5 shows the assisted transfer action to have 4 results - Next, No Answer, Busy and Invalid Number. When I try to add an assisted transfer action, the Invalid Number does not appear. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

IPO Firmware: 5.0.15
VP Pro: 5.0.23

Never seen a Transfer action that has an 'Invalid Number'. The 'Test Variable' Action with the specific 'Extn' and Group' option checked can validate whether an entered number copied to a variable exists as an extn and\or Group, if so can proceed to a transfer action, if it does not exizt can handle as an error.

I am trying route calls to our 4-digit extensions and capture bad input. I can just use a touch-tone sequence of ???? but thought this new result might be more flexible.

Hes right

This action has the following results which can be connected to further actions:
· Next
This connection result is not used.
· No Answer
This connection result is used if the transfer target does not answer the call.
· Busy
This connection result is used if the transfer target returns busy.
· Invalid Number
This connection result is used if the transfer target is not a valid.


But I certianly dont have that option on out v5 VM Pro

he's wrong (now) - the knowledgebase has a later version of the manual.

It was a feature in the very early 5 beta that didn't make the cut but obviously missed the edit. However you can use a Test Variable action to check that the dialed digits match an valid extension or group number before passing the call to the transfer action.

Thanks for the information. Unfortunately due to our mixed IPO and Definity configuration, there would be no easy way I can see to check valid extensions on the Definity with the Test Variable action.
