Hi,
I’m trying to achieve something for a test a customer wishes to undertake.
I want to set up a 4 digit number to access a specific trunk group.
I have an existing trunk group, lets call it 80 for this example.
Obviously if I were to dial 80, I would access this trunk group.
What I want to achieve is to dial xxxx, but access trunk 80
I’ve tried to do this using groups (Hunt/Boss), but I cannot use a trunk group as a member.
Any ideas?

There are numerous ways to do it.

The easiest way is to assign your 4 digit number to the same Index that TG 80 is already on.

Do a NPL,0,5 and display your trunk groups. Find what Index TG 80 is on (in default it's usually Index 0). Then go to NPL,0,2 to add your 4 digit number, answer yes to 'Already Defined?' and then enter 80. This will put it on the same Index so dialling 80 or xxxx will do exactly the same thing.

There are other ways of doing it eg assigning a Library to dial 80 but it's just additional work.

This is one good thing about the Coral, you can have any number of codes doing the same thing.

Was thinking about this the other day - the option of using Pub.Libs to do this could offer one benefit.

If, for some reason, you want a different name to appear on the screen instead of the TG name then this would do it.

Depending on what settings you have for these in SFE,2
SYSTEM_WIDE_NAME_RETENTION
ACD/LIB_NAME_RETENTION
NAME_RETENTION_OVERRIDE_2nd_LINE
(

And also NAME_RETENTION_OVERRIDE? in the Pub.Lib itself will determine what is shown on the screen. If they're set to Yes then you'll get this on the phone....

OUT libraryname trunkgroupname
CALLED ID libraryname

or (if using LCR)

OUT libraryname lcrdefname
CALLED ID libraryname

So if having the a different name appear as well as the TG then this would do it. Not sure of the actual scenario you could use it but you never know.
