Assign IP to BayStack 350 24T

Hi,
I am trying to assign an IP address to my BayStack 350 24T.
Is there another mean than connecting through Console (assign through Mac ping) ?
I cannot mange to connect Console. What are the Windows Terminal settings needed ? What command should be issued first (CTRL-Y or C ?).

9600-8-N-1. Straight through serial cable. After connecting, press Control-Y to bring up the screen.

Is it a (X) or a (=) serial cable that we need for such a switch ?

Its a straight thru (=) cable, not a null modem.
