I hav Lan with 1 w2k advance server and 30 w2k professional computers. In dhcp server ip address scope is assigned from 90.0.0.6 to 90.0.0.99 and dhcp server has 90.0.0.2 and internet server has 90.0.0.1. Now i want to assign some clients with fixed ip address, i hav heard that i can do it thru RESERVATIONS. Now i tried to add one computer in reservations and gave ip address 90.0.0.6 and that computer's MAC address, now in dhcp address list it shows bad ip address. Can anybdy please help me regarding reservations and what ip address to give? Do i hav to give ip address out from range of 90.0.06 to 90.0.0.99.

no you should be able to reserve the ip inside of the thresd. If the error is saying that it got a message from the client that it is not valid then somone on the network has that ip. go into leases in dhcp adn delete the one you are trying to reserve, then reserve it, then have the user reboot to pick up a new ip. if that doesn't wiork check the mac adde. good luck
