I work on computers and now have had a phone system added to job description. This may be an easy question for most of you but I am having problems with finding the solution. A phone in the system had two puttons assigned to a pool. One button is assigned to pool 892 and the other pool 893. I believe the extension is already programmed to be a part of the pool. I just need to know how to program it on the button on the 4406D+ phone. I pressed #00 to get into programming. Then I pressed the button I wanted to program. I do not know what to do from there.

Any help would be appreciated.

I don't know for sure, but I thought if you assigned a pool to an extension using Personal Lines in WinSPM, then the phone system would automatically create a pool button for you on that extension. Then you could go in and set ringing preferences, etc.

This cannot be done from the extension. You must go into system programming - extensions - lines and trunks and assign one of the lines in the pool. This will assign a pool button for that pool on the extension. It will be on the next available button.

Thanks for the info. One last question. How do I clear a button from the phone. I setup one of the buttons as a converage but I can't figure out how to clear it out. Another button I programmed in 892 and don't know how to remove this either. Do I have to do this from the console phone or can I do this from the individual phone?

You can clear the cover button from the phone or from cntr programming. Just delete it. The pool button must be removed in the same manner as adding the button. Just click on one of the lines in the pool that you want to remove one time. The green lights should go out on all of the lines in the pool.

I don't see anywhere to delete the button on the phone I am trying to program. I don't see any type of clear button and # or * won't delete anything.

This probably is easy for most of you, but could you tell me where to find the line/trunk. When I go to system programming-extension-lines and trunks I put in the extension # and next I put in new entry. Then it asks for the line/trunk. I have downloaded a print to my computer, but I don't see the line/trunk anywhere. Would this be a # like 2/1? If so, when I enter it in system programming how do I put in the /?

Thanks again for all your help.

Post what your printed and we can better analyze what you have.

I printed over 400 pages, but maybe what I am listing is something of interest. Also I had a backup stored on a card. I tried to restore it but got a message stating there was an error...board mismatch. Does anyone know what this means? Should I go ahead and copy over the backup. I made it about 4 months ago.

Here are some of what I printed out that may be of interest.

Ext SS/PP Type
204 6/11 4406D+

Button 5 893 5 (Both use to say Pool -I)
Button 4 892 770

If none of this helps, just tell me what you are looking for and maybe I can find it in print out.

First off, board Mis-Match means that you have a different configuration of modules in the System now than when you backed it up.

To remove a line from an extension, you go to STANDARD SPM:

System Prog > start > extensions > lines & trunks > extension #> enter

At that point, the LINE BUTTONS on the CONSOLE or PC represent the LINES in the SYSTEM.

There will be a list one the left of the screen showing Lines 1-20,21-40,41-60,61-80.

So if 1-20 is selected and you have a green LED on button 4 then LINE 4 is assigned to that extension. If you have a RED & Green LED, it's assigned and in a pool. If only RED, then it's in a pool, but not assigned.

Thanks for all the help so far. I did what you said merlinman and I when I go into the programming and put in the extension, I have 16 red lights on the console. The user phone has only 6 buttons. I am really not sure what it is telling me since there aren't 16 buttons on the user phone. There are no green buttons on this user.
There are two other users who should have also the same settings, but they have a new phone with a lot more buttons. Both of the other users have 2 green lights when you go into line&trunks > extension #.
I believe I need to program those two buttons in the system. I am just not sure how to do it. Do I go into Entry mode (after line&trunks > extension #? If so, I would have to get the line/trunk #. Where do I get this #? Also is it in that format # / #?

OK, here we go:

To ADD a line POOL to an extension, you go to STANDARD SPM:

System Prog > start > extensions > lines & trunks > extension #> enter

At that point, PRESS ONLY 1 of those red leds and ALL SHOULD Light up.

If only some light up, press ONLY 1 of the other set of RED LEDS and then you would have put ONE BUTTON on the Extension for each Line POOL.

Thanks for your help merlinman. I understand everything a lot better now. I was under the impression I had to program in the pool even since it was unassigned. I understand since it is already in the pool, I just need to assign the button to it.

Thanks again everyone.
