Assessment Packages

Hi Everyone,

As many of you know, the assessment package in LS5 is not very good at all. No self-assessments or peer evaluations, not to mention the ability to bring in graphics. So I was wondering if others have started looking at 3rd party
assessment packages and if so, have you found any good ones.

Hi Scott,
We use our own third party assesments for learningspace. We found that the options were quite limited so we have created our own. We use perl scripts (for ls4, and we now use servlets for ls5) to launch external html template pages - we also have a database of over 50 thousand questions/answers which the database houses. Unfortunatly we are not able to distribute this information but if you let me know what sort of assesments you are looking at using then I might be able to assist!

Hi Scott,

The limitations you mentioned are part of the reason why we developed our own Learning Content Management System which is designed to work with LearningSpace. Apart from your wishlist, it can design, produce and manage content delivered through LearningSpace. I have heard that LS6 will be a complete rewrite for the product and has LCMS capabilities.
