ASP.net user name @ login!?!?

I am not as saavy as most that post in the forum, so hopefully I can get some help. Here is my issue:

On my fathers laptop (Compaq Presario 2500) he has encountered an unusual login screen with the following users: ASP.net and John which is his log in name.

Now previosly, there would be no prompt for this since he is the only user for his laptop, so we have no clue where the ASP.net is coming from. It is asking for a password for both accounts and we have never had to enter a password.

Has anyone came across this problem? Is this just a case of a hacker getting over on us? I would appreciate any help or information.
