Hi

I have been asked to create an asp form and then have the data from the form be mailed to SMS messaging on a single telephone.

Does anyone have a clue how to do this?

I am new to ASP

Jason

If you got the solution, please inform me ;( I'll be very thankful

Use the CDO object just like sending a normal email. Address it to 0000000000@messaging.address.com

Where the 0's are the phone number (make sure the format matches what the provider says to use)

If you know the provider I can probably tell you the format they want.

Thats all it takes :)

Warning, using the email system you cannot promise delivery in a certain amount of time because it has to get relayed by several mail servers as they cycle. I have seen messages take 30 minutes to a couple hours using email.

Tarwn,

Do you have a list of the formats that popular providers use ? Is there somewhere online I can find this information out ?

Thanks in advance

Simon Christie

almost all of them (in the US) want the 10 digit phone number with no dashes, etc followed by @there.address.com

Here is a link to a bunch of the addresses for use with SMTP:

Most providers have the address somewhere in their website, so if it isn't on the list you should be able to find it there.

Thanks - After a little research it seems that the systems is different in the uk - something to do with who pays for the message - so the protocols are not widely available, its a shame, but the way things go nowadays !
