ASM with PRI hotline

I am having difficulties dialing out from an analog extension.
I would like it so the end user does not have to dial a 9 first on the analog extensions.

Here is what I have
PRI with destination code 9 to absorb 01 digit use route 001
Route 001 dial out=no number, PRI-A, public
2nd DT with 9

Analog Extension
Line Access:
PRI-A Y
Prime Line I/C
Intercom 2
Capabilities
everything N or None except
DND on Busy Y
Hotline External, Pause+9, Use Prime Line

When I go off-hook on the analog extension all I get is dead air. I have a BLF button programmed on a digital set and that does not indicate the single line phone is off-hook. If I call the analog extension when it is off-hook from a digital set it rings and rings as if it is on-hook.

If I remove the Hotline go off-hook I do get intercom and dial the destination code 9 and it works. FYI with no hotline as soon as I go off-hook the BLF indication on the digital set shows the analog phone off-hook.
If I set the hotline to an internal extension that works too.

I get the same result of dead air and no indication that the phone is off-hook whenever I put anything with the external hotline set.

I even tried a different destination code, 8 + absorb all digits. I removed the 2nd DT.

I know I could tell them to suck it up and use a 9 first but regardless of that shouldn't it work?

Thanks, Steve

Its something with the Hotline. I guessing at this, but try changing your prime line to PRI-A (and leave the pause+9 in the hotline).

Try using feature 78 at the hot line prompt. the only problem is that the user will never get a dialtone.

I have tried only entering Feature 78 with Use Prime and Use Routing Table and I still get the dead air and no indication that the extension is in use.

The no dial tone is not a problem as long as it works but I can not dial anything on my butt set once it goes off-hook.
I never get a system error tone, phone company message or anything. It really is like the phone is physicaly off-hook but the system does not seem to reconize it somehow.

As far as the prime line setting is I only have two options:
None and I/C. There is no Prime Line PRI option.

Just curious, have you tried inserting the pause after the 9 under hotline?

Not familiar with 7.1 & PRI programming.

what would happen it you made the prime line PRI-A
the Hot Line = ,External dial=Feature 78 .use Prime Line ?

Having PRI as a Prime Line is not a choice it only allows you NONE or I/C.

You can only access the PRI via a destination code. I've looked for ways around this and the only option I have found is the Hotline.

I have also tried the Feature 78 with and without a 9 following it along with 'Prime Line' and 'Routing Table'

It seems like with anything set with EXTERNAL the extension just picks up dead air

PRI with destination code 9 to absorb 01 digit"
If your Des code is just "9" the absorb is "ALL" not 1

specifically it is 9any and absorb 1 and dialing out from a digital set is OK with 9+number.

I created a 2nd destination code 8 (8 only not 8any) with absorb ALL to get the hotline for digital sets to work and they finally worked with this setting. I am anxious to go back on-site and see if this works for the analog extensions.
You can see my other post "PRI hotline part II"
Thanks
