Ascom Mobility Master

Ascom IP dect Base stations and d62 handsets.
I have 2 sites

Site 1
Master Base [172.16.1.121],
Backup Master [172.16.1.122] 8 Handsets

Site 2
Master Base [172.16.1.101],
Backup Master [172.16.1.102] 10 Handsets

Both sites are connected via fibre
I am lead to believe that I can assign a Base as a Mobility Master and Allow the handsets to be used at each site .

Has anyone done this ?
I cant work out whether i need a Mobility master at each site or a master at one site and a standby at the other ?

You need at least 1 MM if you have more than 1 master.
One MM in your case is fine. I always use 1 MM if I have only 1 master at a site.
If you have multiple masters at 1 site always use a MM at that site.

so:
1 master = no MM
2 masters at 1 or 2 sites = 1 MM
3 masters at 1 site = 1 MM
3 masters(2 at 1 site, 1 at another site) = 1 MM (at the site with 2 masters)
multiple masters at multiple sites = every site with more than 1 master = MM, all sites with 1 master = no MM

Using a Mobility Master is far over the top.
1 Master on site 1 and a Standby master on site 2 would have been enough for what you are looking for.

Forgot to mention that each site has its own pabx .

One is mitel running SIp .
Other is NEC via Audiocdes Sip gateway

2 pbx-s = 2 masters = 1 mobility-master ;-)

Please don't use FXO's (like AudioCodes MP118) if this is not necessary....

DoubleUT is right about the stand-by functionality: ALWAYS use a stand-by master for each master, PARI master, Mobility-Master...

! this "stand-by master" can be any (slave) base station -> you don't need any extra hardware, just pick one...
