Mitel Cx MCD 10.0.2.28
3 generic sip extensions
1 ASCOM Base station R3 generic and 3 d41 handsets
- we have the handsets registered and they work ok
- the issue we have is when transferring calls
Incoming call to Dect handset 1
press R key , dial 5320 IP Phone
5320 doesnt answer and call goes to embedded voicemail
- Dect Handset cannot retrieve the call ?
- If they hangup call is tranferred , if they press R
again , nothing happens
Does anyone know whether this is a limitation or do we have some settings wrong ?

In the sip profile you can set it for system control of features on or off ( i.e 3300 controls features or your handset controls the feature ). How do you have your SIP profile set. If you are pushing your R key before dialing the 5320, sound like you are only flashing the line. Pressing the R key would then not retrieve the call as your would need to be able to preform a "cancel" ( to get the call back) or a "release me" ( to extend the voicemail ).

This is from the user guide from Mitel but it is for an Ascom built DECT set.

System-based
1. During the call, press the R key to put the call on hold.
2. Dial the number to which you want to transfer the call.
3. Press NO to transfer the call. (Note: Supervised transfer is not supported).

Device-based
1. During the call, press the R key to put the call on hold.
2. Dial the number to which you want to transfer the call.
3. Do one of the following:
• to make a blind transfer, press NO to hang up and connect the other two parties
• to make a supervised transfer, wait for an answer, announce the transfer, and then
press NO to hang up and connect the other two parties.
• to terminate the transfer and return to the held call, press the R key and then press 1.

You can see the difference on how the phone works based on who is controling the features ( system or phone ).

Hope this helps.

Hi Billz66

I recall experiencing a similar problem (Along time ago now). I don't have configuration handy to refer to sorry:

Something along the lines of...A combination of changes to SIP profile (As LoppyLou outlined) and configuration in the DECT base station with either:

Transfer(R)handled locally within base station or external by Mitel box and / or EnBloc dialling enabled or disabled.

Sorry just can't remember, Will be in the office Monday and will dig out details and post.

cheers

Have you tried changing the Multiline set key assignment as follows of the DECT extension number in question on key 2 (i.e.Line Type = Multicall,Button Directory Number = it own extension number, Ring Type = ring) within the Multiline Set key assignment form so that the you can retrieve the call back by pressing 'R' on supervised transfers.
See if that works, it happened to me and thats what worked. The reason was within the SIP Device Capabilities Assognmente assignment assigned to it and the settings within that as mentioned above. The Yes should be ticked for Replace system based with Device based in-Call Features as well.
Hope it works for you.

Thanks for all the help , Finally got it working
- ChangedSip Device capabilities to Device Based
-Added button 2 as multicall of first button

incoming call to dect , press R dial ext to transfer call to
R1 retrieves the call ( cancells the transfer)
or R2 toggles between the callers.

Just what the doctor ordered :)
