I am connected via laptop with crossover cable to my active 8730 services port. I am able to get to the web interface with the 192.11.13.6 address. I'm having difficulty connecting via ASA. Can someone give me the proper settings to setup a ASA session? not sure about the network port/ssh etc settings. I have ssh/5022 set and I keep getting 'communications error.. no ports available'.

Thanks.. running CM 5.0

port 5023 to go to SAT using server IP address
display ip-service to see the defined port for CLAN SAT connections

use port 22 for ssh to linux bash if your login will allow bash access.

both of those don't work. disp ip-services show sat as port 5023 and when I unflag ssh and use 5023 with IP 192.13.11.6 I keep getting communications error.. no ports avail.

How else can I get a SAT terminal? I have a data center powerdown tomorrow and need to be able to get console access to the call servers.

there are three IP addresses when it comes to S87X0/S88X0 servers. you have the master IP that always goes to the active server. then you have two other ip addresses that are static to the two servers. since you have a shutdown, you can just jump onto your LAN and http to the ip of the standby server, go into the maintenance web page and shut that one down. then http to the active server ip address and shut that one down. there's no need to connect to each server via its services port to do what you want to do. on a side note if you didn't make any changes after the nightly maintenance ran, you don't need to do a 'save translations' in ASA.

I need access to make changes because the core network is going down so I will lose my normal network access to ASA/PBX. My voice network runs on a parallel network so the call servers and digital phones will remain up and running. I need to make some coverage path changes tomorrow while the core and main data center is offline. Basically, voice will be up and running aside from IP phones and I'll need to gain access for changes.

breaking news.. I'm an a**hole

Sorry guys, my console cable wasn't plugged into the active server. Which opens up another whole can of worms because we always ensure server A is the active server so something triggered an interchange to B at some point so that's concerning. Anyhow, I'm good now.. console works. Thanks !
