My site administration occasionally gets stuck in a mode where commands don't execute until I hit cancel or esc. For example, I type "disp sta 123" and hit enter. Nothing happens. I hit cancel, and the original command executes. Hit help, nothing, hit cancel, and the help screen displays....

I remember this from years back but can't recall the fix- any ideas?

Hardware platform? Definity / CM software version?
ASA software version?

Systems vary from G3r1v3 to a new R4 S8900.

ASA software is 3.1. (I know, but I can't load the latest ASA on this Windows 7 machine, the ASA installer quits citing 'not compatible with Vista" error.)

32 or 64 bit W7

Download ASA version 6 and its service packs (not sure what's available just yet) from the Avaya support site. When installing it, make sure you right-click the EXE and select Run As Administrator. It should run that way anyway but sometimes this helps with flaky installers.

Regardless, I'm running ASA 6 and I've run ASA 5.x on Windows 7 without any issues.

Thanks, guys.

@bsh - Its 32 bit.

@osheros - I will see if ASA 6 is on my approved list for download and give that a try.

I run cm5.2.13 SP7.02 on 32bit Windows 7 - ASA, Valmgr, COPSSH work well.
