I am runnig Windows 7 Interprise and I have installed ASA 6.0.07
My issue is after 2-3 minutes of no activity in the emulation window my connection stops working. The cursor is active and blinking but the window will not accept any commands or respond to any F-key functions

I have the same issue now in win 7 but also in windows xp, I think there is an issue with version 6

I have no issues on xp, 7-32, or 7-64. You sure you have the latest SP5.

I have have had this on 7 if you create an automatic logon , try setting up the site as logging in manualy each time.

I have had the exact same issue.
I have installed 6.01 with sp5, no luck
I put 5.2.13 SP6.01, no luck
I have tried changing affinity, no luck
I have tried login in manually, no luck
I have looked at power settings, no luck

I can go back to my XP machine and stay logged in all day no issue.

running out of ideas

Avaya released Service Pack 6 for ASA 6.0 in March. I'm running that on a Windows 7 PC, using automatic login, with no issues.

@Kevin,

Did you have any issues prior to installing SP6 ?

John

@ Kevin,

It seems that those who have problems do and those that don't, never did.

Just really strange, since the only difference is XP versus 7

@ Kevin

I have members of our Avaya partner support team that are using 5.2.13 SP6.01 and another one is using 6.0.07 without a single issue.
I am just lost as to where to look anymore, there does not seem to be a consistency to this.

can you use putty ok?

if so there is a nice little add on called putty connection manager , not all the features of asa obviously but will temporarly get you out the mire

have you tried changing the connection port to 5023 from 5022, also if you web browse to the server can you use the sat interface in the server admin?

I do use PuTTY for server connections.
While this is a possible fix my co-worker is a GEDI only kinda of admin so it does not help with that.

I do appreciate the options but for as much as Avaya charges for maintenance it would seem they would have an answer.

ok, I'm off my soap-box

hmmm always the way keep us posted though, strange how it works on some and not others

If /when I figure this crap out I will definitely port the results

RESOLUTION FOUND!!!!

After getting the support team to give me admin rights to my machine.

I found that we have a McAfee NDIS Internediate Filter client installed on my LAN adapter.

I turned off this client and all issues are now resolved.

Thanks everyone for all the help and suggestions.
