Probably something simple?

Thanks,
Paul

Can anything get out of the pix? You are missing the route statement
route outside 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 [GATEWAY_IP]

If that doesn't do it, I have a problem with the pix when you use the IP of the interface and not using the interface keyword in the static and the ACL. It was only with one version on the PIX OS but I can't remember which one. (7.1 or something )

Remove this
access-group inside_access_in in interface inside
It isn't doing anything - everything is allowed out by default.

In addition your static is backwards

static (inside,outside) 10.1.1.249 x.x.x.189 netmask 255.255.255.255

It should be

static (inside,outside) x.x.x.189 10.1.1.249 netmask 255.255.255.255

The issue the command

clear xlate

Thanks for the assistance so far but I still can't get access from the outside to anything inside?

My config is now as follows, I can get access out from the asa to anything. So it must be configuration somewhere??

I think it must be an access rule somewhere, but what have I missed?

Thanks,

Yep open my eyes and read properly.

It was the case that it needed the interface name rather than the ip address, changed it to "outside" rather than the ip and bob's your uncle.

For ref as you will see I have version 7.2(2)
