Hi,
For a particular printer (set up as a printer session) when we try to print say 21 spool files consecutively (These are labels of the same type with bar codes on them), after say the 14th label it starts printing weird. Its like the printer is now confused with the layout and format of the label. The printer receiving data light reamins on.

If these last 6 files then are released manually they print fine.

Is there a printer setting somewhere that needs to be adjusted or has anyone come across something similar?

What type of Software are you using to print the Barcodes???

We use an AS400 Label Manager where the label is designed and this software create RPG/LE code which is called with parameters to produce the labels. It works fine on other printers.

It does sound like something is getting confused, since it is just to this printer,,, have you thought about changing the number of copies, rather tahan generating separate spool files?

a few questions.

is the printer hanging off a PC?

if so, is it connected serial or parallel?

if so, what emulation program are you using?

if so, is the PC in use during print jobs?

who's the printer mfg?

sorry for so many questions, but it will help us understand the environment.
