As400 network design

Does anyone have any recommendations behind how to deploy internet appplications/web pages to the internet using an as400?

I know I am going to need SSL/HTTPS, and HTTP, but my question relates more to how you set up the network to keep the network secure.

Questions:
Are you serving from the IFS or the IPCS or both?
I'm assuming a Firewall??

I do believe that the classic way is to use Websphere, if your AS400, is large enough to handle the overhead.

Not exactly what I was looking for, but great resources/ideas.

This is kind of what I am looking at doing and thinking of.

We have some apps that we are planning to deploy through to a web browser.

We could in effect put the as400 directly on the internet behind a firewall, however I am not sure that is the most secure way of deploying the applications.

So,...this is what I am thinking.

Setting up a linux server such that I can pass http requests from the internet to the linux box then to the as400.
