I've had using Crystal. I wanted to try creating a simple report using a table off of our AS/400 machine instead of using an Access table. I connected to the AS/400 via ODBC and was able to see all the tables/files on the machine. After selecting the file I wanted, I placed a couple of fields on the detail line. But when I tried to preview the report - it was completely blank. I'm assuming there is some option not being set right that I don't know about maybe? If anyone can help I would really appreciate it. I've been digging in on the Crystal Help site but so far I haven't found the answer.

Thanks

I don't have a solution but having similiar problem. We're trying to use ODBC to connect to AS/400 reports w/ Crystal. Getting ODBC error "SQL-0113 Name "N" not allowed". It lets us see the files, pick fields, etc. But when try to check out data/values, it errors out. ODBC is configured using SQL naming conventions.

We are using CCSID conversion (not sure if this matters). ODBC connection works with Access.

We got a solution from Crystal on this, fyi! In a nutshell, simply uise the ADDRDBDIRE RDB(anyname) RMTLOCNAM(*LOCAL) and it formats the DB2 names okay, and replaces this name w/ the *N that is creating the error.
