I'm using ArcServe 2000 Enterp[rise Edition SP2 on our network, we have a pair of Win2K cluster servers connected to a SAN and are using BAOF, the SAN option and the Tape Library option. We also have various other W2K, NT and HP-UX 10.20 servers using the ArcServe Client Agent. All of this kit is new and I've just taken over looking after it.

All the Windows clients are not getting backed up, or they may be, but when I try to restore by session, the database only gives me the directory structure, and no files. The unix systems appear to be backing up fine.

One one node of the file cluster the arcserve engines keep stopping for no apparent reason.

Someone did manage to fix the first problem, but it's gone again.

Has anyone experienced this before and can help? CA's tech support is bad, the US people tell me to call the UK ones because that's where I am, and the UK ones tell me to call the US ones because that's where the product was licensed, this is, of course, if you can actually get through to them in the first place.

Thanks in Advance.

We have exactly the same problem when backing up Netware servers with AS2K. Locale files work fine.
No solution yet. CA people don't know.

Anyone else knows something about that problem?

For netware servers backup, you need to install NETWARE push agent

For Windows 2000, you need Client agent for NT/2000 on both the nodes of the clster
