Hello,

What's the best way to migrate AS/400 to MIMS?
What's the best resource to learn how to do this migration?

Thanks.

Hi A11111111

Could you expand a little on what you are trying to do. You appear to be asking for help in migrating a system currently running on AS400 to a version of MIMS.

What is the system that you are migrating from? What version of MIMS are you going to use and on what platform?

The migration will happen from OS/400 to AIX 4.3. The database will be Oracle 8.
Could you please indicate how much time is typically needed to migrate MIMS (8 modules, DB size 5 GB) from one platform to another?
Thanks.

If you are staying on the same version of MIMS, do not have significant customizations, and are not changing any business functionality, the conversion should be relatively minor. Depending on how experienced your AIX admins are, this could easily be done in a couple of weeks (with most of this time spend in data validation).

If you need to bring in hired AIX/Webshpere/Tuxedo experience (from Mincom or elsewhere), or have extensive customizations, it could take months and lots of people.
