Hi Guys,

Just a newbie in handling Avaya Switch and have some difficulties in terms of tag and untag for Aruba AP. We have a new Aruba access point that needs to be configured via Radius server, my problem is I cannot get any IP from the Radius server even though I already untagged with pvid X. please see details below

I hope you can help me with this.

It looks like the port is set to untagall, so the only VLAN available on that port would be the native VLAN (whatever is set as the PVID). Without seeing the whole config, its hard to say. It may be as simple as using 'vlan port 6/31 tagging untagpvid' if you need two VLANs on that port.

If you need an untagged and tagged VLAN to that AP, you can do something like the below, assuming both VLANs are already configured on the switch:

vlan member add 6/31 85 (adds VLAN 85 to port 6/31)
vlan member add 6/31 88 (adds VLAN 88 to port 6/31)

vlan port 6/31 tagging untagpvid (tells the switch to untag traffic to the native VLAN/PVID)
vlan port 6/31 pvid 85 (if you want VLAN 85 untagged and 88 tagged - put the native VLAN you want on that port after the word PVID)

Hi biv343,

Thank you for the response, appreciate it much. So for me to untag and tag each VLAN, I need to do Vlan member add 6/31 85 before I tag and untag the vlan ports? or it doesn't matter if I do first the tagging?

Thank you,
Garry
