Hello all, I am working with a large nursing home who wants to sell dial tone to its residents but doesn't want them to have to dial '9' for an outside line. They also want the admin part of the facility to continue to dial '9' as they have always done. I'm thinking of enabling 'ARS/AAR dialing without FAC' as a means of accomplishing this. What I need is notes on configuring this if anyone has them. I also need to know if I enable this will the admin side still be able to dial '9'.

Thanks

Dending on local dialing plans, you could make the second ARS access code '1'.

it wouldn't do. They want to have the residents dial exactly the same way they did as if they were still in their homes before they lost their freedom. In this area its 1+10 for LD and 10 for local. Good idea though.

Thanks

mostly digital for the admin side and all single line for the residents. They want to get rid of a couple of hundred POTS lines that they are currently using.

For the single line phones (2500) go to page 2, add system to Abbreviated dialing list1.
Change abbreviated system
pick an available system list and enter a 9
back to the station form, page 2, for the Hot line destination add a 1 and the dial code is the system abbrivated dial code you just added.

Dial Code: 79

thanks adaum. I like the idea. Only worry is if they need the ability to dial 4 digits room to room or to the admins. Currnetly with the POTS they don't have that ability so it might not be an issue.
