Hi,

I have a Exchange sip trunk for voicemail.
I created a ARS (ie 6090) to the siptrunk.

When i dail 6090, the exchange auto attendant picks up.

I would like to add 6090 to Call rerouting 1st Alternative, but when i do this i get the error:

'The Directory numer is not of an allowed type.'

How can i get 1e Alternative to route to the SIP trunk? (i.e. ARS 6090)

1) You should not use Reroute #1 for anything, it should always be blank. Just good programming.

2) Are you trying to change your Trunks to Reroute, or (assumption) your trying to Reroute your user's phones?

Just create a speedcall pointing to 6090. This speedcall can be assigned in the reroute list.

The speeddail solution works great.... Thanks

question for TheMitelGuy:

Why is it wrong to use : Call Rerouting First Alternative Assignment ?

It is made to reroute traffic after a phone has been ringing for a specific time or is busy? (says the help of the 3300).

Is the a better way to reroute traffic to a external voicemail system is a user is busy or doesn't answer?

When i used the Advanced voicemail of the 3300 we rerouted all traffic by user Frist Alternative.

By the way.. Thanks for the quick responce.

Good programming calls for Reroute 1 to be left at default. That is what is taught, depending on your instructor. All instructors in Kanata will tell you not to program reroute 1. If you call tech support and you are using reroute 1, they will recommend you change it. It just makes it easier when your trying to find routing issues. By default all devices use RR1.
