I'm brand new to Avaya and I have a question about the ARS table. When anyone dials 311, 411 etc. they have to dial 9 first to reach an outside line. I want to side step this so they don't jhave to dial that 9.

I was able to do this for 911 by creating a digit-conversion for 11 with a replacement string of 911. When I tried to create one for 311 with a replacement string of 9311 it didn't work.

any ideas?

add station 311 - call forward it to 9311
add station 411 - call forward it to 9411
you can also use coverage remote

you don't need digit conversion for 911 and 9911

Code:
# for 9 (ars) 11 dialed after ARS code
change ars analysis 11 Page 1 of 2
                             ARS DIGIT ANALYSIS TABLE
                                   Location: all Percent Full: 19

    11 2 2 1 alrt n

# for 9 (ars) 911 dialed after ARS code
change ars analysis 911 Page 1 of 2
                             ARS DIGIT ANALYSIS TABLE
                                   Location: all Percent Full: 19

You could also do a vdn/vector. This would save you a couple RTU.

VDN 311 point to vector x
vector x
route to number 9311

Do the same for 411.

If you use Type: virtual on the station form you can program coverage and use call forwarding and it does not use a RTU license for a station port

How do I add 311, 411 to the dialplan so i can create them as virtuals?

Code:
change dialplan analysis Page 1 of 12
                             DIAL PLAN ANALYSIS TABLE
                                                            Percent Full: 0

Dialed Total Call Dialed Total Call Dialed Total Call

I already have an entry for 3 and 4 with a min/max of 4 as we have DIDs that start with 3 and 4. is it possible to have multiple entries in the table for 3 and 4 or do i have to change the min to 3?

Post "display dialplan analysis" here

if you see min/max, you're in the wrong place

OK so now i'm in the right place and I still have an entry for 3 and 4 with a total length of 4 on each. How do now make 3 and 4 with a total length of 3 so i can add them as stations?

add new entries as shown above
you can have 3xx and 4xx mixed with 3xxx and 4xxx
