ARS problem

We have a problem in our G3si switch.
we want the agents to be able to reach the TAC 506 by dialing 86.
i try to change the 6 digit with "change ars digit-conversion 6" and to delete 1 digit and to enter insted the 506 (the TAC) but it doesn't work.
any ideas?

I am a total newbie really to this so bear with me!

Are you saying you want them to be able to dial an '86' before the number so that they are able to use TAC 506 and therefore route the call out on a specific trunk group?

Make sure that in your dial plan 8 is marked as a TAC.

Execute:
change dial-plan
What does it say for digit 8?
If it says nothing, you will get a wave off.
I believe you have to add under the second field for digit 8: DAC or FAC

OK, well I figured out the problem.

In the route pattern, you must set the numbering format to match. Natl-pub was creating the wave-off. I switched it to unk-unk and it worked. I switched it to locl-pub and it worked.

Do you have AAR? Just make it 86 and go into your AAR analysis and add the tac

Why can't you just change your TAC to 86? That would seem like the easiest thing to do.

Why do you want to give them direct access to the trunk?
Its much safer and more controlable to use ARS

Hi assistu - i thought about it (and even tried it) but trunk access code should be minimum 3 digits long (in my switch).
Bobg1 - i must give them the trunk access code - in order for them to be able to do some certain actions.
10ex for all your replay, but anyone have something else ?
