ARS- cant dial some local #'s

have 2 definity/s87xx platforms. can not dial some local #s from one or both systems. Temp work around by entering complete # in ars table. ARS seems to be the same in both systems. On one system get carrier recording to redial with a "1". When dial with "1" then get carrier recording saying dont need the "1" On 2nd system number does not work without the "1", but does work with the "1"- but is a local call(area code & exchange)- shouldnt have to dial "1" at all. Temp work araound put complete # in ARS table. # happens to be Cellular Sprint. ARS below.

1st system- # doesn’t work at all, until I added temp fix. Local 10 digit #.

I get the same thing on my systems too. I will investigate and see what I find out. Who is your local carrier?

check ARS digit conversion, toll table and prefix mark on routes.

Do a trace and see what digits you are sending to your local carrier. They may have a routing problem.

I did a trace on my system and I'm setting up the correct digits. I believe it maybe a Dallas carrier problem.

checked w trace function. digits outpulsing are good. reported to ATT up to Tier 2. Tier 2 has a tool that allows them to insert to and from area codes & exchanges. Their tool says # is actually long distance, even tho in same area code. !!!!!! If tru, how in the world could we know this. How do I program ARS to know when to insert a 1 for some of the numbers in this same area code?? possible? Maybe donw to exhange level in ARS??????

Your provider can give you what calls are considered out of your local calling area. Then you will know which prefixes within the same area codes to add to LD route patterns.
