Hi

This may sound like a dumb question, But how can I view a config in a word format. I have site mananger but I was wondering if the is any other software available. I have heard of some config builder software that alllows you to do this.

Cheers

1.)Telnet to the router.
2.)Enter into bcc.
3.)Type the following: show config -all -file <filename>
where "filename" is the name of the file that you want to save it as...do not include the <>.
4.)ftp the file locally and open it in notepad or word.

Using the -all switch, will show you every parameter, including system defaults. If you leave that out, then it only displays things that are NOT system default settings.

what is bcc? is this a proprietary Nortel issue? I've never heard of it in Cisco?

Thanks GT

BCC is bay command console. It is another type of IOS that runs on bay/Nortel routers.

If you type bcc from the TI you will go into the BCC. From this you can run similar commands to cisco...
