Grrr... I hate the blue screen! It came up immediately after the reboot when I ran the Dynamic Disk upgrade wizard... so I don't think it actually started the upgrade process yet but I'm not sure.

I tried safe mode and the blue screen still comes up. Here is the gist of the message:

***STOP ... ... ...IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
***ADDRESS ... ... Base at... ... Datestamp... ... ntoskrnl.exe

Any suggestions? Is there a way to cancel the dynamic disk upgrade from the Recovery Console?

Whew! I booted from the CD and did a fast restore and it fixed whatever the problem was... and even upgraded the disk to dynamic without any further problems. I think it is time I started creating emergency recovery disks on my system now.
