Good afternoon,

I have an easy question. Are the Memo Fields Searchable?

I plan to create a table with at least five or six memo fields, which will be copied and pasted from my old documents.

I would like to use a simple "Find" command or Ctrl+F.

I searched through Google and Yahoo! and received both answers. Some of the manuals said, it is not searchable. Some programmers said, yes, it could.

I am using Access 2003 version. I can set the database format to either 2000 or 2002-2003 version.

Thank you.

Memo fields are not really fields within the database. They are stored as objects outside of the table structure.

With Access 2000 and newer, Microsoft allowed the first 255 characters to be treated as a text file, including search / query ability. A big step forward.

My wish list is for memo fields to be treated as a rich text field and to include full search capability. (Like merging Access and Word together for the memo fields) Sighhh....
