Are the 800 series solid inks interchangeable? If they are fine, if not what makes them different? I have used 3rd party MDSC without any problems to report. I have also, in a bind used a 8200 block in my 840 without any problem there either. any inforation about this would be greatly appreciated...

I wouldnt recomend it. Each time they come out with a new solid ink printer, its just a touch faster. The ink had to be re-formulated each time to accomodate that. You have a good chance of plugging the jets if you interchange the ink. Also dont try to remelt the black ink in the waste tray. its black because its a combo of all 3 colors, and if you try to use it as black ink, you get a really cool phsycadelic effect, that costs about $1400 to fix.
