Hey guys, I was just wondering if those real-time chat help sites at sites like At&t, Dell, etc... are an out of the box product or if anyone knows what's used to program them.

I used one with dell the other day and they emailed me our entire conversations, pretty neat...

Any thought?

You can write you own chat line in asp using a database and automatic page refreshes... It's not as pretty as online chats like MSN Messenger etc. (those are applications that are installed using .exe programs) but it could work -----------------------------------------------------------------
[pc] Be nice. It's only doing what you tell it to do.

You could also do this in Flash using XML Sockets which will give you a real time chat with some nifty GUI options.
You could do this in Java as an applet that talks to a back end servlet for communications. The servlet could then talk to your chat server and you could provide your help people with a java chat client straight to the server.
You could do this in .Net...
:)
Sorry got carried away

Sorry that I can't give any advice, I'm sure you could have found these on you own (and probably already have). I haven't actually used any of these. Maybe you should download a few trials and write upa review for us in the FAQs section, i for one would be very interedted in learning more (if I had the time).
