This may be a strange question - we've had problems with AMD's reliablity with Windows in the past, but now the only host I can find for my dedicated web server only offers AMD Athlon chips (they'll be 750s so I guess that's a K7 and not an xp - couldn't find out more as AMD's site was down).

We'll have 2 machines and we'll be running:
Win 2000 Server
SQL Server
Livestats
various small apps for use with IIS5

Can anyone forsee any problems? Someone said I'll need a good fan and a good power supply - any suggestions?

The Athlon AMD chips will be fine, they are fast and seemingly reliable with a built in maths co-processor for handling certain complicated tasks

Hi,

I use Athlon in my Web server for 1.5 months. During that time I did not have any problems so I guess that they are ok.

Btw. I forgot to write that my site is very busy with 50 to 120 people connected in same time. We have more then 500.000 opened pages during day.

Amd needs good cooling , bcause they run hot. If you have that and/or a nice cold server room, then you can use the amd no probs. What else needs to be said ? Treat it nice and water it verynight and dont forget to talk to it every so often.
