Are 9608 Phones officially support now?

I've been looking but I any find any documentation saying they are supported with the latest release.

They are supported, as are the 9611s with release 8.0.42, which includes firmware 6.2013.

from Tech bulletin 143 (R8 Q1 2012 Maintenance Release)

2.1 96x1 Series Telephones
This Maintenance Release includes new firmware for the re-introduction of the 96x1
series of telephones. In addition, the 9611 telephone is now supported with this release.

I read the 143, it would have been nice if they had mentioned the 9608 too.

They did, they fall under this sentence "This Maintenance Release includes new firmware for the re-introduction of the 96x1
series of telephones." :)
