ArcserveIT 6.6 on NW5.1SP7

I have a problem with ArcserveIT 6.6 running on a Novell Netware5.1 Server with SP7.
The backups were succesfully created (5 Volumes -> 5 Sessions on the tape).
But if I will restore some data from another than the first session, Arcserve could not find the session on the tape and the restore-operation fails.
So, I tried to merge the tape again into the database and it was successful. But Arcserve still could not find the sessions after the first when running a restore operation.
I also tried to repair the DB and restore the original DB but the same happend.

Please, can anybody help me?

Hi

Did you merge "All Sessions" when doing the merge or only Session 1, there is an option to set when configuring the merge. You can set any session to merge.

If you run a tape scan, does it scan all 5 sessions?

Yes, the scan was about all 5 sessions.

Thanks for your help but because of these failures of ARCServeIT running under NW5.1, I decided to use Veritas BackupExec9.0. So I hope this backup-software will run fine.

Had same Problem here with ArcS. 6.6 and Novell 5.
do:
note the Sessionnumber (eg. 3)
on the Server type:
tapesvr enable vtrestore #
(where # is the Session you want to restore)
start the job in Arcserve

I don't know if you can restore more than 1 Session this way, but it is ok with me this way. The reason is something with Tapeformat VTABLE and Arcserve. For some reason Arcservedoes not recognize the Tapeformat anymore and uses a Standard Format to read...
