I have a Netware 5.1 server running Arcserve 7 for Netware. I had to reboot the server and everything loaded fine, except the Acrserve.NLM. Instead I got the error "Loader cannot find public symbol ca_rpc_htonl for module arcserve.nlm. Load file reference undefined public variable." If anyone can help me clarify this matter, I would greatly appreciate it. The Computer Associates has nothing onthis specific problem. Thanks.

Hi,

did you install service pack 4 for Netware 5.1 and the cumulative service pack for arcserve 7 ?

give me the order. what did you install first?

SP4 for nw5.1 or the cumulative service pack for as7 ?

ok.

If the server is not in production yet:

1. Delete folder sys:\arcserve and astart.ncf
2. Down Netware Server / Power Off !!!!! no restart or reset !!
3. Restart Server and reinstall Service Pack 4 again !!
4. Restart Server (Power off !!)
5. Install Arcserve7 server component to sys:\arcserve again
6. Don´t start Arcserve7 with astart at the console. !!!!
7. Install the cumulative Service Pack from CA
8. down the server and restart.
9. start arcserve7

Unfortuneatly, the server is in production and is currently being used. Is there any other way, maybe?

Get a planned outage, excuse "NO BACKUPS UNTIL WE GET THE OUTAGE" always works for me ;) -----------------------------------------------------
