Arcserve V9 and Exchange Agent for Arcserve 6.61

Hi,
We have a site where they have purchased the Arcserve V9 but they still are running Exchange Agent for Arcserve 6.61. When the backup is finished I have only information message that says " Old Agent. Using named pipe for communication"
Looking at the informtion from the two databases that are backed up (Information store and Directory) it looks like they have been backed up. We don't do brick level.

Anybody that can tell me if it is very critical to update the exchange agent to AS V9.

The best is to try to restore exchange database to alternative server don't depend on other thoughts.

This a good approtunity to test your disaster Recovery to your exchange server.

Hi GSC,

Arcserve 6.61 Exchange Agent is absolutely compatible with Arcserve 9.0.

Arcserve 9.0 is fully Backward Compatible with all Agents of ARcserve 6.61 and ARcserve 2000.

There is no critical need to update to Exchange Agent of Arcserve 9.0 unless you would like to use the specific options like changing the ports and blocks in Exchange AGent.
