Hi

I have downloaded a demo version of ArcServe. I have a few questions perhaps someone will be able to answer.

When choosing the source of your backup,i tick, C and D drive and system state. I am looking for a complete backup.

But below these are a few options i do not understand. They are as follows:

1. BITS Writer
2. DHCP Jet Writer
3. Event Log Writer
4. IIS Metabase Writer
5. MSDE Writer
6. WINS Jet Writer
7. WMI Writer

Perhaps someone could explain what each of them means, and the implications of ticking/unticking them?

During a trial you are entitled to free support from CA, call them.

these are the VSS writers available to be backed up if you have a windows 2003 install.
You'd be in good shape if you select your data volumes and the system state.. you dont hafta worry too much about the writers...
