my 2 cents on this topic:
Since version 6.x, Arcserve Alerts have been a pain to manage. It took me a long while to get it to work on Lotus Notes. I finally had to install a Notes client on the server to get it ti work. When, I finally got SMTP alerts working, I never looked back. Seems products that use straight SMTP alerts work better for my Notes only environ ment.
