Arcserve and SQL Server Agent 1

My Arcserve job activity log shows that arcserve "connected with the sql server database agent" during the previous night's backup. However, when I go to modify the job and click the SQL server server, I do not see the sql tables. The right pane of the modifying job window shows "There are no items to display in this view." According to Arcserve documentation I should be able to see the tables and select what type of backup I prefer as well as other functions.

Arcserve was already set up when I came to work here. I'm not very familiar with the application, but have been reading documentation and trying to familiarize myself with it for the past few weeks. Any help would be appreciated. I can provide more info if needed.
 
Does the activity log show it backing up "dbasql@whatever"? If so, then you are getting backups.

Try Right-Clicking on the SQL Agent and setting the Security. If that still does not display the databases, then don't cancel out of modifying the job.
 
No, doesn't show backing up dbasql@ at all. I went to the restore wizard and found that no backups are occurring. I've set the security for sa, ASAdmin, Administrator.. I tried any and everything I could think of. When I right click on the sql server it hangs for about 3 minutes before the security window displays.
 
Is this on a cluster? It sounds like the agent was not set up properly. The only way to change the configuration is to uninstall and reinstall. I would reinstall and apply SP4 to the agent, making sure everything is configured properly.

Please note that it may require a reboot for the uninstall.
