We are a charity running Arcserve 7 on Netware 4.11 with a SDLT.
Whenever we try to backup a the Data volume on a server we get:
E3022 Invalid path
E3015 Service connection broken with server

However the sys: volume backs up fine.

I've checked the CA site which is routinely useless.

Any help would be appreciated.

What Service Pack are you using for both NetWare 4.11 and Arcserve 7?

Also, when you have configured your backup job, are you selecting the whole volume or are you selecting individual directories under the volume?

We are using support pack 8a with netware 4.11 and for Arcserve 7 we are running QO33421.CAZ.
We are selecting the entire volume and not just individual directories.

However we have tried selcting the entire server and backing up (not including the tree object).

cheers
Josh.

Hmmm, have you got the TSA's loaded (think it is TSA411.NLM and TSANDS.NLM)?

Also, try disabling the estimate. You can do this in the backup job but you can also change the following parameter in ASCONFIG.INI:

Under [NetWare Backup/Restore], change (or add):

DisableEstimate=TRUE

Unfortunately none of the mentioned solutions have worked in any manner.

It still backs up everything except the data. Very strange cos there is no real difference between two volumes.

I may try getting the TSA's off SP9 for 4.11 and using them but it's a long shot.

Any suggestions?????

Just got a new error:

E3015 Service connection to server is broken.

Checked CA website and says to update Novell Clib - support pack in other words. However we are already the max support pack we can go upto ????

cheers

So disabling the estimate did not work? Strange? That is a common fix for the good old E3015 error?

When the error appears, does it show a NetWare error code as well (something like fffefffe)?
