Arcserve 6 and NetWare 5.1 SP4

Ihave a NetWare 5.1 SP4 Server and make Backup with Arcserve 6. After a Backup Job has finished i get the error Messages:
Failed to access: Sys: ...\astape.db
Attempting to : Get Equal
I/O Error
ASDBRegisterTape: Failed to find tape record
Local ASDBRegisterTape failed [2]
E4205 ArcserveIT database file ASTAPE.DB failed on integrity check [2]

When i make a new database the next job runs without problems but next morning i have the same problems
The database is corrupt. In the DATABASE Folder all files have the extension " ^^^"

someone any ideas ???

What version of Arcserve 6 are you using? If it is 6.1, upgrade. If it is 6.6, you are most likely suffering from BTrieve problems. What version of BREIEVE.NLM is your server running? -----------------------------------------------------

We have ArcServeIT 6.6 and the BTRIEVE Version is v7.51.001 from November 28 1999.

Without knowing the details, it sounds like database corruption. the problem with some types of corruption is that it lingers around if everything is not unloaded. You said you tried a new database. when you did, was everything down including btrieve? If not, try unloading btrieve if possible before replacing the database. If it is not possible to unload btrieve, replace the database with arcserve unloaded but wait until you can reboot the server before restarting arcserve. Rebooting the server will clear everything from memory and any possible lingering corruption.
