Facts:
Hardware: Compaq Prolian 3000, DLT 35/70, 90+gb of disk space on 2dh raid controller.
Servers are on different sub nets now, had them on same subs before. (same prob.) All on same ipx net. They go through Nortel switches and routers. All set for half duplex.
Software: Netware 4.11 with SP8A plus clib patch provided by Novell engineering group. Clib pt was supposed to fix problem, naturally, it did not help. Arcserve Enterprise 6.6 with latest sp from CA.
Problem: When attempting to backup similarly configured system across our network the backup time indicated by Arcserve hovers between 200 and 400 hours! Normally, this would indicated 2 to 3 hours. This problem comes and goes without warning. Every few months it crops up for a few weeks and then goes away. Reboots do not help. In addition, when backup takes off there is a console messages indicating a low priority thread condition. Novell has nothing helpful to say about it.
Have spoken with Novell and they cannot provide any solutions! Has anyone run into this before and what are possible solutions?
Would appreciate any constructive input.
