Hello: I recently migrated a client from Novell 5.1 to Windows 2000. They are using Arcserve 2000 workgroup edition. They were using Arcserve on their Novell network as well. They have quite a few DLT IV tapes that were originally used with Arcserve on the Novell server that they would like to use on their 2000 server, but when I try to do a quick erase plus Arcserve says that the tapes are write protected. Of course I verified that the write protect slider is off. Is there any way that these tapes can be erased? Thanks.

You will need to actually Format the tapes before you do a Quick Erase Plus.

IF FORMATTING DOES NOT WORK THEN GOT THE ARCSERVE MANGER - DATABASE - MEDIA RECORDS - DELETE THE MEDIA RECORDS FOR THIS TAPE AND THEN TRY A FORMAT.'
