Arcserve 2000 + Bricks level backup +groupshield 5.2 +job crash

Helo,

I have a server with Windows 2000 SP3 Exchange 2000 SP3 Arcserve 2000 SP4 witch Exchange agent SP4

I have problems making a backup of my mailboxes (bricks level).
After making a backup of serveral mailboxes the backup job crashed en goes to status HOLD. The last mailbox the job backups before the crash is NOT always the same.

I think it is a problem in combination with Groupshield 5.2
Stopping Groupshield doesn't solve the problem.

Has someone know what problem it can be.

No, I have stopped to make a brickslevel backup.

I think it is something with the exchange database, corrupt file ??

You can set the brick level backup to write a debug log (trc file) for each mailbox it backs up. I would suggest doing that first and then see what the errors are the problem occurs.

I've run an edbutil integ scan over the private information store, and it passed the integ check fine.

I've deleted the rmm* index files in the database directory, and this may well have helped. the rm files get remade automatically. I was thinking as the exch db is fine it might be the arcserve db giving problems.

We have the bricks level backup working.
we have make 5 jobs with some time between the jobs to start, in every backup-job we select 3 mailboxes.
Then de backup complete succesfuly (5 times).

When we select all mailboxes a the same time the job is going to crash.
