Hi All, we are running BrightStor ArcServe 11.5 with SP3 on Windows 2003 machine. We have a dedicated storage of 7 TB!

We want to backup several servers on this storage but how do we do that? Lets say we want to backup 10 servers and want to keep 1 month backups for all.

Can anyone suggest how to set this up? What kind of media do we have to use?

Regards
Steve

FSD File System Device,
each FSD = 1 directory = 1 tape
create enough FSD to maintain the rotation you want

Thanks David. We are already using the FSD's now. I also read somewhere their is a limit on these FSD? Do you know how much FSD i can create?

Also we want to do tape backups from these FSD. Should i buy the diskstaging option then?

Regards
STeve

Hi stevebelis.
We use arcserve's staging function to make backups to SAN and later a migration to tape. This might be something for you?

We have over 200 FSD's and have no issues. I believe the limit increased to 256 or greater after a recent update (SP3 possibly).
